If you are experiencing issues with the Tortal LMS or a course, the issue can often be resolved by clearing your browser cache. This forces your browser to download the latest files instead of reusing stale ones.
Tip — keyboard shortcut (desktop): Press Ctrl + Shift + Del (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac) in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Opera to jump straight to the Clear Browsing Data dialog. Be sure to select All time and Cached images and files, then clear.
Choose your device:
- Desktop or laptop — Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, Opera
- Mobile device — iPhone/iPad Safari, iPhone/iPad Chrome, Android Chrome, Android default browser
Desktop or laptop
Chrome
Fastest: press Ctrl + Shift + Del (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac).
Or via menus:
- Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right of Chrome and choose Settings.
- Choose Privacy and security, then Clear browsing data.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Check Cached images and files.
- Click Clear data.
Firefox
Fastest: press Ctrl + Shift + Del (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac) to open the Clear Recent History dialog. Set Time range to clear to Everything and confirm.
Or via menus:
- Click the hamburger menu (three lines) and choose Settings (or Options).
- Choose Privacy & Security from the left.
- Under Cookies and Site Data, click Clear Data.
- Select Cached Web Content.
- Click Clear.
Microsoft Edge
Fastest: press Ctrl + Shift + Del.
Or via menus:
- Open the three-dot menu and choose Settings.
- Go to Privacy, search, and services.
- Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.
- Set Time range to All time and check Cached images and files.
- Click Clear now.
Safari (Mac)
Fastest: press Option + Command + E to empty the cache.
Or via menus:
- In the Safari menu bar, choose Develop > Empty Caches.
Don't see the Develop menu? Enable it via Safari > Settings (or Preferences) > Advanced, then check Show Develop menu in menu bar.
Opera
Fastest: press Ctrl + Shift + Del (Windows) or Command + Shift + Delete (Mac).
Or via menus:
- Click the Settings icon (three sliders) in the upper-right corner.
- Scroll down and choose Clear browsing data.
- Set Time range to All time and check Cached images and files.
- Click Clear data.
Mobile device
Note: you cannot clear your cache while you have a course open. Close the course first, clear, then return.

- Android — default Internet browser (Samsung, etc.)
iPhone or iPad — Safari
- Open Settings on your device.
- Scroll down and tap Safari.
- Tap Clear History and Website Data and confirm.
To clear cookies but keep your history, go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, then tap Remove All Website Data.
If the option appears gray, there is nothing left to clear, or web content is restricted under Screen Time.
iPhone or iPad — Chrome
- Open the Chrome app and tap the three dots in the lower-right corner.
- Tap Settings, then Privacy.
- Tap Clear Browsing Data.
- Set Time Range to All Time.
- Make sure Cached Images and Files is selected.
- Tap Clear Browsing Data and confirm.
Android — Chrome
- Open the Chrome app.
- Tap the three dots in the upper-right corner.
- Tap History, then Clear browsing data.
- Set Time range to All time.
- Select Cached images and files.
- Tap Clear data.
Android — default Internet browser (Samsung, etc.)
- Open your Internet browser.
- Tap the menu icon (three lines or three dots).
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Privacy and security (or Personal data).
- Tap Delete browsing data (or Clear cache).
- Select Cache and tap Delete.
