If a User reports difficulty in completing Courses, and all looks good on their Course or Lesson Reports, you may be feeling a little confused. This is a common scenario with a simple solution. This article will outline the common cause, and places to direct your Users to look for solution.
How to troubleshoot incomplete Courses.
1. Check the Completion status of all Lessons in a Course.
The progress each student makes on a Learning Object within a Course can be reported on as "Progress" but this is a calculated metric, based on different factors depending on what type of Learning Object it is.
This metric is is rounded for presentation. which means that the "Progress" can reach "100%" while the student has left a small portion of a video unwatched, or a document unread.
This is most often a :01s - :02s space at the end of a video, or a document needing to be scrolled COMPLETELY to the bottom.
2. Manage User issues involving Incomplete Courses.
The easiest way to manage Users reports such as this is to advise them that they MUST allow video learning objects to run to the end. or scroll completely to the bottom of pdf, image or document type Learning objects.
This trains your Users to completely finihs their work, and allows them to troubleshoot their own issues.
Alternatively, Administrators with the "Mark Lesson as Complete" Permission can do this for the User, by utilizing the "Mark Lesson as Complete" Wizard located under Admin >> Users >> User History >> Mark Enrollment as Complete"
